Away from the cities and modern civilization, on the top of the highest mountains of the region, lies a stronghold. A glorious castle named “Hasan – e- Sabah Castle” or “Alamut Castle” (Castles of the Assassins).
With our Alamut tours which usually can be covered in one day, you will get to explore a different aspect of Iran. Let’s together go through the history of the Assassins in Iran, how this mysterious sect of Shi’ism started in Egypt and was later exported to Persia and Syria. Who were the leaders? What was the method and policy for inviting to the new religion? These and many other questions will be answered by me during the tours to Alamut Vallay.

Alamut Trekking

Alamut is THE region for trekking and hiking in Iran. Lying in the heart of the Alborz mountain ranges in northern Iran, this valley offers an extremely diverse and unique range of different mountains, canyons, peaks, and totally different views.

Alamut Peaks

Alamut Valley is the bedstone for 4 peaks with 4000 MASL and over.
These peaks do not require technical mountaineering. You only need to be fit enough and have the essential trekking gear.
Even if you are in Iran and just decided to go for a hike in these mountains, you can let us know and we will prepare the gear for you.
These peaks are Khashchal (4000 MASL), Shah Alborz (4125 MASL), Sialan (4250 MASL), and Alam Kuh (4860 MASL).
Depending on your choice of peaks and depending on the season, you will need to have at least 2 full days to be able to hike to one of the peaks.

Alamut Castles

(Castles of the Assassins)

Alamut is the home of some of the Castles of the Assassins. Apparently, after the Mongol invasion, not much remained from the castles but some walls and rooms.
Today, out of 60 castles, watchpoints and towers of the Assassins, remains only less than 10.
Among these 10, we can offer tours to 4 of them including Alamut Castles (Or as we call it, Hasan Sabbah Castle), Lambesar Castle, Meymoon Dezh castle and Navizar Castle.
Depending on the time and days limit you have for Alamut, we can cover two in one day or more in 2 and 3 days.
